Go Back

Having retired from the Windsor Ministry of Transportation in April of 2005, after 26 years, the time was right for Susan to follow her passion and share her 15 years of knowledge of Tai Ji with others.

Susan first learned under Michael Wu at Parks and Recreation which greatly sparked her interest in the art.  She continued at Tecumseh Tai Chi Studio in Tecumseh with Rick Murphy for 4 years.  Currently, and for the past 11 years, Susan has been studying with Alex Wu who has been her mentor and encouraged her to teach.  She has also studied at the University of Beijing, China during the summer of 1998.  Her study group has demonstrated at the Chinese New Year celebrations, Carousel of Nations, Dragon Boat Races on several occasions.

Susan has a high degree of proficiency in Yang Style 10, 24, 42, 48 hand forms as well as 32 and 42 sword forms.  Currently she is learning Tai Ji Ball with Tony Mao.

Susan has helped to create a Not-for-Profit association called Great LakesTai Ji Association to promote Tai Ji in the area, conducting seminars and workshops with area Masters and Masters from China.  Her position is Treasurer of the association and she will be looking for members.

Her Tai Chi class at Lifestyle Family Fitness would begin with basic forms assuming the students are beginners and continue from there if there is enough interest.
